Wiki Links and How to Create Them

Creating a link in the InterFaceMagazine wiki is easy!

SmashWordsTogether to create a page link. Click on the "?" to edit the new page.

You can also create free links that aren't WordsSmashedTogether. Type them like this: ((free links)). Those pages work just like a WikiLink except that they don't have to be written in StudlyCaps? and may contain spaces.

To create a remote link simply by typing its URL: http://plagiarist.com.

If you like, enclose it in brackets to create a numbered reference and avoid cluttering the page; [http://www.openpoetry.com] becomes [1].

Or you can have a description instead of a numbered reference by putting a space between an address and the title you want to call it; [http://openpoetry.com The Open Poetry Project] becomes [The Open Poetry Project].

You can change the displayed text to another WikiLink page by using double parentheses around the link and separating the true link and the displayed text with a vertical bar; ((WikiLink|The wiki link page)) becomes

The wiki link page. See LinkingToPoetsNames for more about practical uses for this technique.

You can link to some other sites by typing shortcuts. See InterWiki for more details. For example,

MeatBall:RecentChanges
Advogato:proj/WikkiTikkiTavi
Wiki:WorseIsBetter
